Mobile App and API Automation Tester

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Mobile App tester with a strong background in automation to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in software testing, with a specific focus on automating tests for mobile applications and APIs. Your role will be to ensure the quality and functionality of our mobile apps and backend services through comprehensive testing and automation processes.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze user requirements and develop comprehensive test cases.
• Create, maintain, and execute detailed test plans and test cases.
• Design, develop, and run automation scripts using tools such as Appium, Selenium, and Postman.
• Identify, document, and track bugs and issues throughout the testing lifecycle.
• Collaborate closely with development teams to ensure quality across the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Conduct post-release and post-implementation testing to ensure application stability.
• Maintain thorough documentation of test results to aid debugging and software modifications.
• Evaluate application performance under various conditions and document findings.
• Stay updated on emerging testing tools, strategies, and industry best practices.
• Coordinate with offshore team leaders across geographically diverse locations.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders and team members to resolve system issues promptly.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in mobile automation testing, particularly with Appium and Selenium.
• Strong understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC).
• Hands-on experience with API testing tools such as Postman.
• Proficiency in programming languages, including Java or Python.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools and processes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with exceptional attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with mobile app development and testing frameworks, along with knowledge of iOS and Android operating systems (Xcode for iOS, Android Studio for Android), and mobile app development guidelines.
• Experience using automation tools such as Appium, Selenium, and Espresso to write and execute test scripts.
• Ability to perform thorough manual testing for bugs and usability issues that automated tests may not detect.
• Proficiency with tools like JIRA (for bug tracking), TestRail (for test case management), and Charles Proxy (for network testing).
• Basic understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases for testing data-related aspects of apps and APIs.
• Familiarity with testing APIs using tools like Postman, SoapUI, or similar.
