Senior Site Reliability Engineer

One of our Global Clients in the Hedge Fund and Trading space has a fresh opening for a Senior Site Reliability Engineer with Software Development / Engineering experience to join their dynamic commodities trading team. This role will be sat within the Core Engineering team, and will be working to innovate and research cutting edge technological solutions that will be utilised by trading teams. You will be working alongside the best minds in the business in a global team of Engineers, Developers and Traders to build state of the art systems and the tools required to maintain and constantly improve them.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the Commodities platforms and applications operate reliably and ensure their availability.
• Design and provide the platform tooling required to ensure introspection and telemetry of applications.
• Lead the charge for automating repetitive tasks and resolving systematic issues.
• Understand the flow of the end-to-end processes across critical applications.
• Incident management ownership across all the vital applications, identifying root causes, delivering platform solutions and enhancements, minimising downtime.
• Collaborate closely with other commodities engineering teams and desk aligned teams to ensure scalable and stable solution building.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelors Degree or higher in Computer Science or related field.
• Fully proficient in Python and/or Java, other modern structured programming languages will be considered.
• Experience with a range of modern software development tooling and practices.
• SQL and Database experience.
• Web UI experience (JavaScript, CSS, React) - Nice to have.
• Excellent Communicative skills, written and verbal.
• Collaborative nature with a strong ability to work independently.
• Passion for learning and constantly improving.
