Job Summary

We are looking for a Support Engineer who will be part of Core Banking systems Support team and should ensure safe, secure and reliable running of business applications as a key priority. The Applicant should possess relevant experience of 6 - 8 years in Banking Application support with sound analytical skills.

Key Accountabilities

  • Providing 24 X 7 first and second level support for Banking Applications including Core Banking, Teller, Cards & Clearing systems.
  • Coordinate with third level support or Application Vendor to troubleshoot and fix major issues
  • Performing preventive maintenance activities on Core Banking Applications
  • Identify Core Banking system customizations done through Equation user exits and in-house processes which develops based on RPGLE and CLLE programming languages
  • Perform Equation parameter, System variable and configuration changes and in-house developed RPGLE/CLLE program changes
  • In-depth troubleshoot on Core Banking system related issues and identify root cause by reviewing Program Dumps, IBM i/MIMIX journals , RPGLE/CLLE developments ect.
  • Perform Bulk updates which developed based on Equation APIs and External journal Apply, perform Mock and Test EODs
  • VISION Solutions MIMIX Enterprise HA system upgrades, perform BCP activities, New Data Group/object configurations and troubleshoot /resolve DB/Obj and Audit errors
  • IBM BRMS Configuration changes; Add/Modify Control groups, Backup Policies and Media Policies and ensure proper tape recycling
  • Perform configuration changes in Helpsystems Robot/SCHEDULE, ALERT, CONSOLE, REPLAY and REPORTS modules
  • Plan and engage with IBM Power Server Migrations, Operating system, MQ, BRMS upgrades and PTF Apply
  • Engage with Core Banking system Equation & Integrated Application Interface upgrades and New Module implementations
  • Work independently and with the team to analyze issues/queries and understand new requirements to provide acceptable solution


Qualifications & Experiences

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.

Required Experience

  • 6+ years’ working experience and knowledge of IT services and system development.
  • Banking knowledge with Finastra Fusion Banking Equation experience is must
  • Understanding of Equation EOD process, CST, Parameters and System Variables
  • Experience in Backup / Restore Equation Units and configure Test environments
  • Strong Knowledge and Understanding of following areas/modules of Finastra Equation
  • Account services operations, Database File Definition, Report Tailoring, Parameter Applications
  • Retail Deposit and Lending, Commercial Lending, Profitability Analysis, Clean Payments
  • Enhanced Security features, Collateral Recording Module, Flaxy Loan Repayment priority
  • Strong Knowledge and Hand on experience in AS/400 (IBM i) Operations and administrations is must
  • Good experience in Query/400; RPGLE/CLLE program development skills will be an added advantage
  • Experience in VISION Solutions MIMIX Enterprise HA system, IBM BRMS and Helpsystems ROBOT modules
  • Expert in functional release methodologies and best practices.
  • Expert in QA metrics, defect metrics, and product quality trend analysis.
