Quality Assurance Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced QA Engineer with deep experience in testing APIs and building high-performance solutions within the Cosmos ecosystem. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of blockchain architecture, distributed systems, and a proven track record of developing secure, scalable, and robust APIs. This role will focus on extending the functionality of APIs to enable seamless integration with Cosmos SDK-based blockchains, leveraging Tendermint's consensus engine and related tools.

Key Responsibilities

• API Testing: Lead the design and execution of test plans for APIs that interface with Cosmos/Tendermint, ensuring high performance and security.
• Automation Development: Develop and maintain automated test scripts to ensure API functionality and performance, using tools like Postman, or similar.
• Blockchain Application Testing: Test the integration and functionality of custom APIs for Cosmos-based blockchains, including governance, staking, and IBC (Inter-Blockchain Communication).
• Security Testing: Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on APIs to ensure compliance with best security practices.
• Collaboration with Cross-functional Teams: Work closely with API engineers, product managers, and DevOps to understand requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.
• Documentation: Maintain comprehensive testing documentation, including test cases, results, and defect reports to ensure transparency and traceability.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with developments in the Cosmos/Tendermint ecosystem and actively contribute to enhancing our testing methodologies and tools.

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in quality assurance
• 2+ years specifically in API testing and blockchain technologies.

Technical Skills

• Proficient in API testing tools such as Postman, or similar.
• Strong understanding of RESTful and gRPC APIs, with a focus on performance and security in decentralized environments.
• Familiarity with blockchain technologies, particularly the Cosmos ecosystem and Tendermint Core.
• Experience with scripting languages (Python, JavaScript) for test automation is a plus.
• Knowledge of CI/CD processes and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions).

Soft Skills

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a distributed team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with testing methodologies specific to blockchain applications and decentralized systems.
• Open-source contributions to QA or blockchain projects are highly desirable.
