We are seeking an experienced analyst to join a dynamic team focused on system flexibility. Working within a small team of junior analysts and a manager, you will divide your responsibilities equally between project management and analytical tasks.
Key Responsibilities
Analysis
- Collect, analyze, and interpret data on flexible technologies (e.g., heat pumps, EVs, home batteries) across all voltage levels in Belgium.
- Investigate the responsiveness of flexible assets to dynamic or capacity tariffs and other signals, identifying behavioral trends and response profiles.
- Develop innovative methods to retrieve unavailable data through desktop research, stakeholder engagement, and creative problem-solving.
- Conduct time-series analyses on consumption patterns, renewable forecast errors, market behavior, and system imbalances, applying statistical and machine learning techniques where necessary.
- Present insights in clear, actionable formats for internal and external audiences and guide the development of tools and applications with IT teams.
Project Management
- Oversee the planning, execution, and follow-up of the system flexibility program, ensuring alignment with scope, timeline, budget, and resources.
- Facilitate collaboration across departments (grid development, market operations, system operations) and manage program communication.
- Monitor program progress, ensure data accuracy, and report deliverables to management and governance bodies.
- Identify and implement process improvements for the program's growth and efficiency.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in engineering, economics, or a related field, with a strong interest in technical environments.
- In-depth understanding of the energy sector and several years of experience in electricity markets.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex questions into data-driven analyses and strategic insights.
- Proficiency in statistical methods (e.g., machine learning) and tools like Excel; experience with Python or similar programming languages is a plus.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage priorities and deliver flawless work.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of maintaining a broad overview while focusing on execution.
- Fluency in English, with working knowledge of Dutch and/or French.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a results-driven mindset.
- At least five years of relevant experience.
