Job Responsibilities
- Design, build, and deploy innovative models and algorithms to address various business challenges, from credit risk to customer behavior insights.
- Lead the development of robust analytics dashboards and reporting systems to provide actionable insights for cross-functional teams.
- Explore and apply state-of-the-art machine learning techniques to optimize business processes, enhance lending technology, and drive Bree’s future AI roadmap.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to establish and maintain scalable data pipelines, ensuring performance and reliability across diverse use cases.
- Conduct deep-dive analyses to inform key decision-making, proactively identify areas for improvement, and innovate on data-driven processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred, or equivalent professional experience.
- 2+ years of experience as a Data Scientist (or in a related role) solving problems end-to-end—from data collection and cleaning to modeling and deployment.
- Strong proficiency in Python and Pandas.
- Solid understanding of common machine learning libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, LightGBM, PyTorch).
- Extensive knowledge of statistical methods and machine learning design patterns.
- Familiarity with Git for version control.
- Hands-on experience transforming data into insights using SQL and business intelligence tools (Tableau, Power BI, or similar).
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex business needs into data-driven solutions.
- A desire to drive AI adoption and advance data science technologies in real-world applications.
- You’ll apply machine learning and advanced analytics to Bree’s state-of-the-art lending platform that supports Canadian consumers.
