London: £47,657 - £56,050 (which may include an allowance of up to £8,393)

As a Junior DevOps Engineer, you will:
Technical:
- Help build and run user-centred, open-source, secure web systems to serve a variety of citizen and government needs
- Be involved in automating the deployment of systems that follow standard patterns, or components of systems that are more complex
- Use infrastructure as code to assist the team in managing multiple environments
- Build tools to automate tasks
- Contribute ideas to the wider team and help grow our DevOps community.
- Contribute to a diverse, inclusive culture across the development community, growing awareness, inclusivity, and balance
- Occasionally participate in 2nd line support during office hours, and sometimes out of hours (for which youll be paid an allowance and further hourly payment when on-call)
- Share knowledge of tools and techniques with the wider team and community, both developers and non-developers, and maintain DevOps culture.
- Be part of a diverse, inclusive culture across the development community, growing awareness, inclusivity, and balance
- Participate in the professional development of themselves and happy to try and assist others

Person Specification
You Will Have:
- A systematic approach to solving problems
- Awareness of modern development and deployment techniques
- Awareness of infrastructure as code principles
- Experience working in a mixed skillset team
- Awareness of version control technologies such as Git
- Awareness of the use of containers and minimal operating systems
- Awareness of cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
- Awareness of data and application security
- Interest in learning software development methodologies such as agile
- Experience with a programming language such as PHP, Go, Python or Javascript, etc.
