Role: AI/ ML Support / Data Scientist

Location: Sydney

Job Description:

• ML/AI expertise:
• Model development: Experience in building, training, and ne-tuning machine learning models (both supervised and unsupervised learning).
• Feature engineering: Ability to extract meaningful features from raw data to improve model performance.
• Model evaluation: Experience in selecting and applying appropriate metrics (e.g., accuracy, precision, recall) to assess the performance of models

• Data science background:
• Statistical knowledge: Strong foundation in statistical methods and their application in data analysis
• Exploratory data analysis (EDA): Expertise in analysing large datasets, identifying trends, patterns, and outliers.
• Data wrangling: Skills in preparing and cleaning data, including dealing with missing data and scaling features.

• MLOps/Model deployment:
• Model deployment: Understanding of how to deploy models into production environments
• CI/CD for ML Pipelines: Knowledge of Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines specic to machine learning
• Monitoring & retraining: Experience in monitoring model performance post-deployment and setting up processes for retraining and updating models

• Technology:
• Cloud platforms: Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure, particularly for machine learning services. Ideally GCP
• Big data tools: Experience working with distributed data processing tools like Apache Spark, Hadoop, or Google BigQuery. Ideally Google BigQuery

• Other experience:
• Payments or retail: A plus if they have experience working in payments or retail. Bonus if fraud related experience
• Agile development: Comfortable with agile methodologies and iterative development for running PoCs quickly and effectively
• Prototyping: Ability to prototype solutions rapidly, test, and iterate based on early feedback

• Additional Qualities:
• Problem-solving mindset: Ability to think creatively and approach challenges with innovative solutions.
• Effective communication: Strong communication skills to work cross-functionally and explain ndings and make recommendations.
