Summer Trainee, Embedded Software Development

KONE Lane is an advanced access solution developed by KONE, a global leader in the elevator and escalator industry. This state-of-the-art turnstile system is designed to enhance security and efficiency in modern office environments and multi-use buildings.

We are now looking for a

Summer Trainee, Embedded Software Development

to develop the individual system services / modules related to the turnstile functionality in Hyvinkää Finland. We work in a hybrid model so some remote work is also possible.

Responsibilities

• Develop an independent service to interact with and monitor the device remotely
• Debugging the issue related to the interfaces between different controllers
• Coordinate and collaborate with various associated teams related to the tribes.
• Work closely with the team in Hyvinkää
  
  

We are looking for a student with ongoing studies in embedded domain to work for 4 months between May and September 2025, based on availability and preference.

In order to be successful in this role

• Relevant studies in University or University of Applied Science focused on the field of Embedded domain, automation engineering
• Programming Languages : Experience with at least one of the following: C, C++, Python or JavaScript. Knowledge of more than one is a plus
• Operating System: Ubuntu based, FreeRTOS (advantage)
• Knowledge of MQTT could be plus.
• Back-end development : REST API
• Good collaboration and communication skills in English, passion and courage to learn new and ability to innovate and to challenge existing ways of work
