Front End Software Engineer

We’re seeking someone to join our team as a collaborative, hands-on senior full stack web developer to build dashboards and UI toolkits as part of a data science platform for quants, sales & trading.

Position Description

• Morgan Stanley is seeking a collaborative, hands-on Front-End Software Engineer with 2-5 years of experience to build Dashboards and UI toolkits as part of a data science platform for quants, sales & trading.
• This is a rapidly growing and high-priority area, and the growth in users and use-cases has warranted the investment from the business to build out a team in Paris.
• You will work closely with quants and traders on multiple trading desks to design, develop, deploy, and support the innovative data science environment that utilizes the latest Angular/Python ecosystem.
• The candidate should have hands-on experience in Angular, a good understanding of backend technologies, and be eager to work on DevOps initiatives.
• This role offers an opportunity to work on both frontend and backend technologies, tackling complex tasks and delivering high quality code with attention to detail.
• You will collaborate closely with global teams, leveraging their technical and analytical skills to understand the requirements and develop innovative complete end-to-end solutions.
  
  

What You’ll Bring To The Role

• At least 2-5 years of relevant experience.
• Solid knowledge of Typescript and Angular/React, preferably Angular.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and Git, CI/CD. Strong enthusiasm for code quality and desire to build long-standing and stable system.
• Strong communication skills, both technical and otherwise, that can be leveraged to collaborate with a diverse set of stakeholders.
• Openness to working on backend services eventually.
• Understanding of data structures and their implementation in software development.
• Strong team player with a results-oriented focus and a highly disciplined approach to meeting objectives.
  
  

Nice To Have Skills

• Prior experience with MongoDB
• Knowledge of backend technologies like Python preferably or any other programming languages
• Understanding of microservice architecture
• Knowledge of Web Component Knowledge of Docker, Podman
  
  

What You’ll Do In The Role

• Design and develop maintainable and dynamic frontend applications using Angular.
• Contribute to the creation of frontend regression test frameworks to improve application stability and reliability.
• Ensure that frontend code conforms to established system architecture and integrates with backend services seamlessly.
• Assist with DevOps and SRE tasks ensuring smooth deployments and automation of workflows and production monitoring.
• Familiarity with backend technologies such as Python is preferred but not essential.
• Collaborate with tech leads and business stakeholders to gather insights and requirements.
