Graphic Design Intern

Role Overview

We are looking for a creative and detail-oriented Graphic Designer Intern to join our Visual Merchandising (VM) team at a leading furniture retailer. This internship is ideal for a design enthusiast with a passion for retail aesthetics and branding. The candidate should excel in teamwork, demonstrate initiative, and be proficient in English with basic content writing skills.

This is a hands-on role where you will contribute to high-impact visual merchandising projects while honing your technical and creative skills in a dynamic retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Modular Furniture Adaptations:

• Image Editing & Retouching: Prepare and enhance images for technical and informational graphics.
• Signage & Graphics Creation: Develop signage and graphics for categories such as Sofa & Living, Dining, Bedroom, and Kids, in English and Arabic.
• Pricing Materials: Create editable pricing pamphlets and templates, including full price and sale price artworks.
• Furniture Collection Signage: Design A5 signage showcasing furniture ranges and components.

1. Kids Key Merchandising Principles (KMP) Revamp:

• Assist with redesigning and updating signage for the Kids department, aligning with KMP guidelines.

1. Furniture Collection Signs:

• Develop comprehensive range signage and informational graphics for store displays.

1. Graphic Adaptations and Edits:

• Resize, adapt, and format graphics for multiple uses while maintaining brand consistency.
• Ensure designs meet quality and aesthetic standards for both English and Arabic materials.

1. Collaboration and Teamwork:

• Work closely with the Visual Merchandising team to deliver projects on time in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Take initiative in identifying areas for improvement and providing creative solutions.

Requirements

• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Photoshop and Illustrator.
• Experience with Arabic artwork and multilingual design.
• Personal Attributes:
• Strong attention to detail and consistency.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong collaborative and communication skills.
