Job Purpose
To provide the full array of occupational hygiene compliance services, support and related health educational programs as part of the overall Occupational Health Services for ENOC and its affiliates, as directed by the Chief Medical Officer.
Principal Accountabilities
- Contributes to achievement of overall team goals by providing support and direction to the Chief Medical Officer and supporting the wider Occupational Team and beyond.
- Provides theoretical and practical on the job training in occupational hygiene principles, procedures and methodologies for the occupational team.
- Collects and processes risk assessment data and determine the program needs and communicates these to the Chief Medical Officer.
- Design develop and priorities the occupational hygiene programs to meet the changing needs of the business and affiliates.
- Independently identifies problems and utilises the full range of skills, knowledge, experience and available information to analyse the issue and develop effective, timely solutions.
- Audits, reviews and test control measures across the business to ensure effective control and reduction in health risks.
- Educates ENOC employees on occupational hygiene issues to improve the general health and wellbeing of ENOC employees and to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of ENOC occupational Health Services.
- Educates Occupational Health Section to improve and maintain understanding of issues relevant to the services being delivered to the business and the technical requirements of the techniques required to carry out the hygiene assessments.
- Maintains awareness of technological, legal, and professional issues and changes associated with occupational hygiene and utilises this, along with internal and external resources, to achieve professional and educational best practice.
- Provides the "Occupational Hygiene" input into other relevant business activities (eg incident investigation, risk management programs, etc) to optimise their effectiveness in terms of their impact upon the health and wellbeing of ENOC employees.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's qualification in Occupational Hygiene or equivalent professional qualification (eg BOHS Diploma (UK), ABIH CIH (USA), ROH (Canada) or COH (Australia).
- Minimum experience 5 years post qualification experience in occupational hygiene in an appropriate industrial environment(s) or consultant hygienist role.
- Analytical and research skills. This includes data analysis and investigative analytical skills and ability to research and present key information in a clear and concise way.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, including confident written and verbal communication.
- High level of computer literacy (eg Microsoft Office programs, analytical software).
