Cybersecurity Lecturer Position at Laurea University of Applied Sciences

We are now looking for a Cybersecurity Lecturer to join Laurea in a permanent position to teach cybersecurity students.

As a lecturer, your main responsibilities revolve around teaching that consists of planning, implementation, and evaluation of courses. The courses are held in English and primarily delivered as interactive remote teaching and automated online courses, although some courses require lecturer's attendance on campus. Your work will also involve research, development, and innovation activities. Both the teaching and RDI activities can all be adjusted according to your own professional interests and strenghts.

The official qualifications for a Lecturer in University of Applied Sciences include a Master's degree and minimum of three years of work experience in a relevant field, and the qualification of a vocational teacher (60 ECTS). If you do not hold the qualifitation of a vocational teacher, it can be studied alongside work within 3 years max.

More detailed recuirements for the position:

• Good oral and written communication skills in English, Finnish skills are beneficial
• Work Experience in IT or Cyber Security Industry with hands-on competency in at least one of the following areas:
• Developing, integrating, maintaining, and securing cybersecurity solutions
• Designing and planning secure infrastructures, systems, and services
• Monitoring, analyzing, and mitigating cybersecurity incidents
• Vulnerability and penetration testing
• Programming skills are beneficial but not mandatory
• Project work experience
• Genuine interest in developing yourself as a teacher, educator, and a counselor
  
  

Prior teaching, training, or counseling experience is beneficial but not mandatory.

Working as a Lecturer in Laurea

Lecturer's salary is composed of the years of relevant work experience and the previously listed official qualifications. A person with +20 years of relevant experience and the official qualifications will have a monthly salary around 5100-5500€ (61 000 - 66 000€ yearly). A full time lecturer works 40h / week and has 12 weeks of paid leave (vacation) yearly, of which 8 weeks are held during the summer. This allows a great work-life balance.
