ABOUT THE ROLE
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full-time Content Producer to join our Digital and Marketing Department in March 2025. The purpose of the Content Producer is to conceptualise, create and deliver various forms of content that engage, inform, entertain and grow the club’s digital audience. They are responsible for producing high-quality content (such as videos, articles, social media posts, and podcasts) and ensuring that the content aligns with the clubs’ strategic goals, key messages and target audiences. The content producer will grow the online community, drive engagement and meet the club’s objectives through compelling storytelling and creative execution.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
Reporting directly to the Digital Content Manager, the key areas of responsibilities will include:
- Ideating, planning, and executing the creation of content for the club’s social and digital channels which drives engagement through engaging storytelling
- Generate compelling written content including social copy, news articles and feature pieces
- Understand the Club’s target audiences, strategic focuses and key messages to tailor content accordingly
- Posting of content across social media and digital platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, club websites and apps and any emerging platforms)
- Be at the forefront of social media and content trends to ensure timely implementation of best practice
- Conceptualise and execute creative solutions for the club’s commercial objectives whilst aligning with the content strategy
- Use performance data to improve or adjust digital content to ensure best practice
- Work collaboratively with the Club’s marketing department to ensure a consistent brand is communicated across digital platforms and graphic design requests are briefed in a timely manner
- Training and match day photography for website and social use, including Photoshop editing
- Ability to edit short form video for social media
- Interview club players, staff and stakeholders on and off camera
- Daily monitoring of social media channels, post moderation, responding to comments and enquiries, and ensuring an outstanding customer service experience is provided
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
We are seeking a highly skilled and creative Content Producer with qualifications in either journalism, communications, marketing, or a related field. You will have demonstrated experience across all forms of digital media, including managing social media channels and producing compelling video, written, and visual content. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with a deep understanding of social media platforms, trends, and best practices, including technical knowledge of metrics and tracking.
Our ideal candidate brings a creative and innovative mindset, sound photography and Photoshop editing skills, and basic video editing proficiency in Premiere Pro. You excel at collaborating with diverse stakeholders, working in teams to achieve desired outcomes, and maintaining strong organisational skills to manage and implement content calendars across multiple platforms. A strong interest in AFL, coupled with an understanding of the game and its fans, is preferred. Additionally, you thrive under pressure, producing high-quality content within tight deadlines.
