The Traveler Marketplace group’s mission is to unlock unforgettable experiences for travelers around the world by making it easy to find, book, and enjoy activities with ease. We own the mobile and web platforms of GetYourGuide and aim to deliver an amazing customer journey through great user interfaces and rigorous A/B testing.

The Category Expansion Team’s mission is to accelerate the growth of specific categories of activities and bring them to their full potential.

You Will

• Champion for the continuous improvement of our customers’ experience
• Directly impact the experience of our travelers who are users of the native Android GetYourGuide application
• Maintain a high standard of quality for our code, features, and products
• Translate high-level ideas and requirements into practical solutions
• Contribute to learning and advancement of our engineering practice
• Help build and grow our Team
  
  

What You Should Bring

• 5+ years of experience in app development
• Experienced with Java, Kotlin, and using the Android Framework
• Knowledge of writing automated tests (Unit/UI/Integration tests/screenshot tests)
• Customer-centric prioritization and data-driven decision-making
• Ability to turn ideas into solid, maintainable code
• Open to learning new technologies and methodologies
• Positive, proactive team player who is passionate about their craft and cares about helping the team deliver
• Capable of working in a diverse team alongside designers, product managers, and software engineers
• Written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly explain technical concepts to others in English
  
  

Nice To Have

• Experience with backend development in Java or Node.js
• Have one or more successful Android apps published in the Google Play store
• Prior experience working in the e-commerce space
• Prior experience in start-up environments
