Senior Java Developer

Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Java Developer to join our team in Amsterdam. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Java development, Spring Boot, Microservices, and Azure DevOps. This role requires not only expertise in development but also the ability to manage end-to-end processes, including post-go-live maintenance. Exceptional analytical skills, Agile experience, and the ability to engage effectively with customers are essential for this position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain robust applications using Java 8 or higher, Spring Boot, and Microservices architecture.
• Design and implement Web Services/REST/SOAP for seamless application integration.
• Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, and Maven.
• Work with Git repositories, IDEs like Eclipse/IntelliJ, and containerization technologies like Docker.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Ensure the smooth operation of applications post-go-live, focusing on continuous maintenance and optimization.
• Communicate effectively with customers, gathering requirements and providing technical insights.
• Conduct code reviews and ensure best practices for deployment on Azure.

Essential Skills:

• Expertise in Java 8 or higher, Spring Boot, and Microservices.
• Proficiency in Azure DevOps, Git, and CI/CD pipeline implementation.
• Strong understanding of REST/SOAP Web Services.
• Hands-on experience with Eclipse/IntelliJ, Maven, Jenkins, and Docker.
• Proven track record in Agile development with strong analytical skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Customer-facing experience with the ability to manage stakeholder expectations.

Desirable Skills:

• Experience in deploying applications on Azure and conducting code reviews in Azure repositories.
• Familiarity with banking systems and Agile concepts.
• Strong project and time management skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Previous experience working in large corporate organizations.
• Ability to derive actionable insights from data analysis.
