Cyber Network Engineer
Location: Norway (Hybrid)

Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Cyber Network Engineer with a strong background in network management, cybersecurity, and industrial systems integration. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in working with industrial network environments, particularly in the energy, chemical, or manufacturing sectors. The role will involve collaborating with Siemens Energy teams, third-party manufacturers, and various stakeholders to ensure the successful deployment and management of secure network systems, firewall configurations, and network management solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Firewall Management:
- Discover and analyze traffic to identify required firewall rules.
- Create and validate firewall rulesets based on real-time traffic patterns.
- Troubleshoot firewall issues and optimize configurations for network security.
- Network Switch Management:
- Manage network switches with remote configuration capabilities (SSH).
- Configure and troubleshoot RADIUS settings on network switches.
- Ensure switch configurations meet cybersecurity and operational standards.
- Network Traffic Diagnostics:
- Utilize tools such as Wireshark, NMAP, TRACERT, and IDS for network traffic analysis.
- Identify performance bottlenecks and security threats, ensuring the network operates efficiently.
- Collaboration with Third-Party Manufacturers:
- Work closely with third-party equipment manufacturers to resolve cyber compliance queries.
- Conduct Cyber FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing) on third-party networking equipment.
- Ensure compliance with cybersecurity regulations and standards (e.g., IEC 62443).
- Windows PC and EWS Provisioning:
- Build and provision approximately 8 Windows Servers (EWS) according to third-party manufacturer guidelines.
- Install, configure, and maintain software, antivirus, and security solutions.
- Perform system hardening on servers, network devices, and workstations.
- Cybersecurity & Network Configuration:
- Configure and validate IP addresses, VLANs, and network traffic flows.
- Manage and configure RDP, user credentials, domain integration, and other network services.
- Ensure network and device security by implementing best practices for patching, backup, and recovery.
- Network Management & Troubleshooting:
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues across the infrastructure.
- Produce detailed reports for network diagnostics and incident resolution.
- Perform punch clearance during Cyber SAT (Site Acceptance Testing) and document compliance.
- Compliance and Documentation:
- Ensure network systems comply with cybersecurity standards such as IEC 62443.
- Produce comprehensive documentation for network configurations, firewall rules, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Maintain clear communication and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met.
Required Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Networking, or a related field.
- Certifications:
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Cisco Certified Cybersecurity Specialist (CCSP), or equivalent certifications.
- Additional certifications in cybersecurity (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CISSP, etc.) are a plus.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience in networking and cybersecurity roles.
- Extensive experience in industrial network environments (preferably in energy, chemical, or manufacturing sectors).
- Proven track record of implementing and managing firewalls, network switches, and cybersecurity solutions in complex, high-security environments.
- Experience with network diagnostic tools (Wireshark, NMAP, TRACERT) and IDS/IPS systems.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, IP addressing, VLANs, and firewall configurations.
- Hands-on experience with network management tools and techniques.
- Proficiency in Windows server provisioning, system hardening, and security configurations.
- Familiarity with industrial control systems and protocols.
- Experience working with cybersecurity frameworks, especially IEC 62443.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Attention to detail with a focus on quality and compliance.
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and third-party vendors.
- Willingness to travel for site inspections, testing, and troubleshooting (if required).
- Ability to adapt quickly to evolving technologies and standards in the cybersecurity and networking space.
