Software Engineer (Python)

About The Opportunity

We are seeking a dynamic Software Engineer (Python) to join our growing global team, Recommendations domain to work on exciting projects like implementation of our own machine learning framework, integrating a feature store for supporting real-time data science requirements and the creation of complex data ingestion pipelines to support this!

Responsibilities

• Working closely with Data Scientists and Product Managers to run experiments on new recommendation features.
• Deploying low latency databases and datastores to support operational requirements of the recommender models.
• Working with senior engineers to maintain our API Gateway.
• Deploying and maintaining ML models on our deployment framework that power recommendations on all pages of the application.
• Enabling and actively managing observability tools on all touch points within our systems.
  
  

What you need to be successful

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent education or practical experience.
• Overall 3-5 years of experience in software engineering.
• Hands-on experience with writing clean, structured, and high-performance SQL and production-ready Python code with appropriate documentation.
• Strong understanding of software fundamentals, such as data structures and test-driven development.
• Experience in supporting an API endpoint or Gateway, deploying machine learning models at scale or with GCP are an added advantage.
• Experience with Airflow, Jenkins, Kubernetes, and Terraform are a plus.
• Ability to work in a collaborative and fast-paced environment with a growth mindset.
• Excellent written and spoken English communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
• Strong business mindset and ability to grasp business requirements from stakeholders.
