Network Engineer

Our client is a mid sized government agency responsible for the development and delivery of national programs, services and systems which encourage better use of data and technology to enable Australians to live healthier, happier, and more productive lives.

The Role
Our client is seeking a network engineer who is required for the new office IT infrastructure design, day-to-day administration, implementing and maintenance of the Agency's network infrastructure.

Responsibilities of this role include:

• Designing and implementing the IT network infrastructure for the Agency's new Canberra office.
• Installing and configuring network hardware, such as routers, switches, and firewalls.
• Monitoring and maintaining the network performance.
• Troubleshooting and resolving network issues and outages.
• Ensuing network security through firewalls, VPNs, and other protective measure.
• Ensuring network systems are up to date with the latest technologies and patches.
• Documenting and maintaining network diagrams, configurations and documentation.
• Providing network support to users experiencing network-related issues.
• Ensuring that network operations comply with industry regulations and standards.

Skills and Experience

• Advanced experience with Cisco Switches.
• At least 3 years work experience with IT infrastructure network such as IP network design, trouble shooting, Wi-Fi configuration, fibre and optics, switching and routing.

Below experience and qualifications are highly desirable:

• Previous experience in IT infrastructure network for office relocation.
• Tertiary qualification in Computer Science or Information Technology.
• Cisco certified Network Associate (CCNA).
• Cisco certified Network Profession.

It is a requirement of this position that the successful candidate must be an Australian Citizen and hold a security clearance.
