Application Support Engineer – Investment Banking

€100,000 + 15% bonus

Hybrid - 3 days per week onsite

Working Hours: 9 - 5:30 (Irish Time)

Must Have: Strong Python / Bash Scripting skills and knowledge of trading systems, investment banking, and fixed income products, (equities, options, FX etc)

Overview

We have partnered exclusively with a multinational Investment Firm who are looking to add to their established L2/3 support team. This role is pivotal in providing front-line support for our trading systems and ensuring the seamless operation of critical applications used by approximately 200 users across New York, London, and Asia.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial trading systems, deep knowledge of investment banking operations, and expertise in fixed income products (equities, options, FX, etc.).

This is a highly technical and dynamic position that offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced global environment and contribute to the stability and performance of mission-critical systems.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide Level 2/3 application support for trading platforms and systems used across global markets.

- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to trading applications, ensuring minimal downtime.

- Collaborate with traders, developers, and IT teams to address system incidents and implement improvements.

- Monitor system performance and proactively identify potential risks or bottlenecks.

- Develop scripts using Python or Bash to automate processes and enhance system efficiency.

- Manage system upgrades, patches, and deployments in UAT and production environments.

- Create and maintain detailed technical documentation for processes and incident resolutions.

Must Have:

- 4+ years of experience supporting trading systems within an investment banking environment.

- Strong understanding of fixed income products (equities, options, FX, etc.) and financial market operations.

- Advanced proficiency in Python or Bash scripting for automation and troubleshooting tasks.

- Application support experience is preferred.

- Trading Systems Experince, sell side is fine, buy-side experience is a plus.

- Experience working with remote cross-functional teams.

- Familiarity with .Net, MS SQL is preferred.
