Head of Plastic Injection Molding

Roles & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate injection molding machines and associated auxiliary equipment proficiently.
• Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of mold and injection machine operations, executing full part to full part set-ups and start-ups.
• Monitor and fine-tune machine parameters, including temperature, pressure, and cycle time, to ensure peak production efficiency and part quality.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks on machines, encompassing cleaning, lubrication, and troubleshooting minor issues.
• Conduct thorough inspections of finished parts to identify defects and guarantee compliance with quality standards.
• Maintain production records, promptly reporting any discrepancies or concerns.
• Adhere to safety procedures and regulations to foster a secure work environment.
• Undertake mold changes and manage machine and material setups.
• Proficiently utilize measuring tools, such as a micrometer.
• Execute physical duties requiring average strength, including manual lifting and working in tight spaces.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production processes.
• Responsible for ensuring smooth functioning of departments.
• Follow ISO 9001 & 13485 certification requirements and participate in audits to maintain compliance
• Experience with PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) and ability to support PPAP submissions
• Responsible for continual improvement projects.
• Responsible for ensuring productivity by regular analyzing data with various departmental heads.
• Responsible for driving quality consciousness and controlling rejection with regular meeting and analyzing data.
• Responsible for providing and decision making in critical situations.
• Responsible for compiling total production manpower requirements and freezing in conjunction with Departmental Managers/Supervisors.
• Responsible for handling customer queries regarding supplies, complaints or any feedback.
• Responsible for monitoring quality objectives of production and tool room department in conjunction with Plant Director and demanding action plan from departments.
• Responsible for reviewing of performance of concerned departments.
• Responsible for coordination with various departments.
• Responsible for cutting down injection molding cost by decreasing injection molding rejection , tool setup time and rework cost.
• Responsible for ensuring superior tool quality and providing solution to tool room.
• Responsible for ensuring safety measures in the company.
• Responsible for ensuring QMS implementation in conjunction.
• Assist in the development of procedures for efficient use of materials, machines, and employees
• Confer with other shift supervisors and lead supervisor to coordinate activities of individual plastic moulding shifts and with other departments
• Requisition tooling repairs and changeovers as needed
• Review and analyze production, quality control, maintenance and operation reports to determine causes of non-conformity with product specifications or operating or production problems.
• Revise production schedules and priorities as a result of equipment failure, operating problems or a change in production priorities; assist other employees in diagnosing malfunctions in machinery and equipment
• Perform or assist with mold setups, material handling or quality control duties as needed; fulfill responsibilities of subordinate personnel in their absence
• Schedule, organize and oversee the activities of all subordinates.
• Continually teach and enforce safety rules; take charge in case of any medical emergencies involving personnel on the shift
• Is a role model for TQM practices displayed by the use of TQM tools in the everyday performance of responsibilities and in dealing with others.
• Under minimal supervision is responsible for conceiving, developing, implementing, and procedures. Is responsible for entire engineering projects including documentation, parts selection and specification, construction, debugging, installation and (internal) customer interface as well as all aspects of project management. Interfaces with division management on strategic technical issues.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Detailed Knowledge of Injection molding and Tool room and
• Minimum 5+ years' solid Product design experience in plastics injection manufacturing
• Skillful operation with UG/PROE/Catia/Auto CAD cartographic and office software
• Rich experience in injection mold design, manufacture, fitting assembly, as well as common standards in automotive industry
• Familiar with the brand and performance of the steels, hot runners, and other standard parts
• Familiar with brand and perfomance of mold manufacture equipments
• Knowledge in resins and their properties (theoretical and practical)
• Experience in project management of injection molds
• Experience in tooling supplier developing and managing
• Experience in working in international/multinational teams
• Very good English and Slovenian skill both writing and speaking is required due to daily communication on the "production floor".

• Should be Graduate/Master in Mechanical/Engineering field
