Role:

CoreWAN Senior Engineer - Cloud Interconnect

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled CoreWan Senior Engineer specializing in Cloud Interconnect to join our innovative team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and troubleshooting complex network solutions that integrate seamlessly with cloud environments. This role requires in-depth knowledge of Layer 3 protocols, advanced routing techniques, WAN/LAN design, and public cloud networking, alongside expertise in network design and implementation for enterprise and service provider environments.

Key Responsibilities:

Network Configuration & Troubleshooting:

• Configure and troubleshoot Layer 3 network protocols such as OSPF, IS-IS, and BGP.
• Maintain and optimize routing protocols like EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, IS-IS, and MPLS.
• Implement and troubleshoot QoS for voice and video on enterprise networks.

Cloud & ISP Integration:

• Work with eBGP and MPLS for routing across diverse, globally connected ISPs and autonomous systems.
• Collaborate with ISPs for WAN circuit migrations and resolve WAN-related issues.
• Ensure seamless networking setups and address limitations for Azure, GCP, and AWS public clouds.

Network Design & Implementation:

• Design WAN infrastructure and remote connectivity for customer sites.
• Prepare detailed specifications to define and illustrate network designs and configurations.
• Develop IP address plans and naming conventions to optimize performance and resource utilization.
• Provide network design engineering services for global customers, including cost models and solution architecture.

Hardware Expertise:

• Handle Cisco ISR/ASR routers and Nexus platforms, including Nexus 9K, Catalyst, VPC, FEX, VDC, and Cisco VSS.
• Maintain and upgrade IOS-XR/XE-based routers and NXOS-based switches.
• Expert knowledge of ASR9K, ASR1K, and Nexus9K platforms and hardware.

Technical Leadership & Documentation:

• Lead design integration for cross-functional systems and conduct technical design reviews.
• Define standards and best practices for network design, testing, and implementation.
• Train peers on end-to-end network designs and operating procedures.
• Document network solution architectures, implementation guides, and operational procedures.

Project Coordination:

• Review network designs and bills of material with project managers and peer engineers.
• Coordinate schedules, tasks, resources, and dependencies for network design projects.
• Execute evening and weekend changes as needed.

Qualifications & Skills:

Technical Expertise:

• Extensive understanding of network functionality, system capabilities, and network design.
• Strong knowledge of routing technologies, including BGP, OSPF, MPLS, LDP, RSVP, SR, VRF, L3 VPNs, IPsec VPN, QoS, and Intelligent WAN.
• Knowledge of Python, data models, and configuration template generation methods.

Certifications (Preferred):

• Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP).
• Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) Enterprise Infrastructure (desired).
• Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) Service Provider (desired).
• Networking-related certifications for AWS, GCP, or Azure.
