Research And Development Engineer

We are currently working with a prominent European-based family-owned business that is known for designing, developing and selling medical aesthetic products and its treatments can be found in more than 70 countries around the globe.

Due to their continuous growth, they're currently on the lookout for a motivated R&D Engineer (Product and Innovation) to join their team.

The ideal person should be specialising in polymers, with a particular focus on hyaluronic acid. They will be an integral part of the product development team, contributing to the design, testing, and improvement of innovative solutions.

This role offers an opportunity to work closely with passionate engineers and to participate in the entire product lifecycle, from concept to market introduction.

Key responsibilities:

• Participate in the design of new projects/concepts/products.
• Define the project scope with a cross-functional project team to bring innovative ideas to life.
• Manage external relations with laboratories, doctors, and other relevant stakeholders.
• Connect Research department with other departments like Marketing, Sales, and Business Development.

Define methodology and carry out analyses

• Specify reference components, apply chemical analysis and synthesis methods.
• Undertake, monitor, and supervise scientific studies.
• Conduct comprehensive research, perform valid tests, and plan based on results.
• Synthesize formulas and solutions in cooperation with external partners/ suppliers.

Design and develop innovative solutions

• Suggest areas for research, new products, new ideas, new suppliers.
• Contribute to the formulation, design and development of new products and features containing hyaluronic acid, from concept to commercialization.
• Test, correct and validate the product to evaluate the efficacy, safety, and stability of formulations.
• Validate development by conducting preliminary studies (complete physico-chemical characteristics, functionalities).
• Steering and influencing various stages of the development process through to industrialization, defining industrial processes, and quality criteria.
• Draft possible deliverables and prepare presentation for decision by Top Management.

Guiding as technical support during production

• Participate in the pre-industrial launch, set up industrial quality control.
• Contribute to the preparation of technical reports, documentation, and industrial analyses (e.g. process tests, equipment tests).
• Evaluate and choose suppliers of materials and production equipment.

To be considered for the role, you must closely match the following criteria:

• Master's degree in chemistry, biochemistry or a related field
• At least 5+ years of experience in a similar field, preferably cosmetic industry
• Preferably you possess experience/ focus with Hyaluronic acid
• Experience in managing and or leading a small team (3-5 persons)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Eagerness to learn and develop in a dynamic environment
• Willingness to work as part of a team and support a fast-growing company
• Excellent English skills both written and verbal is mandatory
• French or any other language is a plus
