About The Role

We are seeking a Software Engineer to lead our Platforms. In this role, you will be pivotal in developing and maintaining robust software platforms that support our cutting-edge digital biology initiatives. Your expertise in cloud-based infrastructure and backend development will be instrumental in building scalable, efficient, and resilient platform services.

Your role will involve close collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to ensure that our platform not only meets current operational needs, but is also strategically positioned for future scalability and functionality enhancements. You will play a crucial role in our startup's technological advancement, contributing both to our immediate objectives and long-term vision.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable and resilient software platforms, focusing on backend services and cloud infrastructure.
• Implement and optimize cloud solutions, primarily in Google Cloud, to support the operational needs of software applications and data flow.
• Be an active contributor to the company’s source code, across all projects.
• Collaborate with various teams, including scientists and other engineers, to ensure seamless integration and operation of platform services.
• Drive innovation in platform development to enhance performance, scalability, and productivity. Invent solutions to hard problems!
• Contribute to the strategic planning of the platform architecture to support the startup’s growth and expansion.
  
  

Qualifications

• 3+ years of relevant industry experience.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
• Strong proficiency in programming languages, preferably Python, and familiarity with software development best practices.
• Strong experience in software development, particularly in backend and cloud-based environments.
• Experience in platform-level development, including data pipeline management, microservices architecture, and cloud-native technologies.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, interdisciplinary environment.
• Effective communication skills, able to collaborate with both technical and non-technical team members.
