Voodoo is creating a new studio with a very exciting and ambitious mission: release the next $1B Match 3 game, pioneering the next generation in this category. We aim to elevate quality and innovation in casual, redefine industry standards, and deliver fun to a broad audience. You will be joining this studio as a Senior VFX/Animator.

Role

We are looking for a Senior VFX/Animator Artist to play a pivotal role in crafting our next $1B casual game hit. As an early hire in our brand new Match-3 studio, you will have the unique opportunity to define and build the VFX/Animation style and pipeline from the ground up, influencing every aspect of how our game looks and feels. You’ll be a key collaborator across creative, technical, and strategic areas, ensuring that our visual effects and animations captivate and delight millions of players worldwide.

• Design and implement vibrant, eye-catching effects for match-3 interactions, power-ups, explosions, characters animations, and more. All aligned with the overall art direction.
• Work closely with the Art Director, designers, and 3D artists to ensure that VFX integrate seamlessly with characters, environments, and gameplay mechanics.
• From concept to in-engine integration, define best practices for effect creation, optimisation, and workflow, maintaining quality and performance standards.
• Stay on top of industry trends, new particle simulation techniques, trendy animations, and emerging tools to push the boundaries of what’s possible in mobile game VFX.
• Provide feedback and guidance to keep the visual style cohesive across all VFX elements, animation and contributing to the overall art bible.

• 5+ Years of Experience. Strong background as a Game Artist or VFX/Animation Artist in mobile games (preferably casual).
• Expert ability to create, modify, and optimise 2D/3D assets for Match-3 gameplay.
• Unity Expertise: Skilled in integrating artwork, optimising performance, and understanding relevant animation pipelines for mobile platforms.
• Comfortable with rigging, keyframe animation, and in-engine setup to bring characters and effects to life.
• Familiarity with shader creation and real-time effects to add extra polish and dynamism to the game.
• Experience working with tools like Git or Perforce to manage and track art assets efficiently.
• Strong communication skills to provide and receive feedback, and a collaborative mindset.
