The Development Team supports this mission through the design, development and deployment of reliable, functionally rich and market leading software. The Development Team focus on innovation and continuous improvement, with this being at the forefront of what they do.


The role

We are excited to offer two new opportunities for experienced Software Engineers to fully participate and contribute to the software development process at Tribal, demonstrating a high level of competence and professionalism. Not only that, you will have the opportunity to be involved in with innovation and continuous improvement projects, proving to be a great time to join the team.


Some of your key responsibilities will include:


  • To carry out all fundamental software development activity.
  • Identify defects, diagnose root causes, and propose solutions.
  • To translate user requirements, functional and technical specifications into appropriate and clearly understood design, architecture and technical output.
  • To develop using well known development techniques, industry standard design principles, frameworks and patterns, following agreed standards and approaches.
  • Ensure secure coding practices and adhere to security standards.
  • Engage in code quality activities, including unit testing and code reviews.
  • To undertake impact analysis of new features/defect fixes, and document according to standards.
  • Provide accurate work estimates and participate in sprint planning.


The Person

The ideal candidate should be proficient in Web development using back-end technologies like PHP and Laravel. Expertise in front-end technologies such as HTML5, CSS and JavaScript/TypeScript is essential, particularly with frameworks like React.


The candidate should have experience with databases, APIs and automated testing (unit and integration tests, Playwright).


Additionally, a strong background in development with an in-depth understanding of software engineering best practices and the ability to troubleshoot complex systems and algorithms is necessary.


Some exposure to cloud platforms and deploying code to cloud infrastructure, using best in class CI/CD techniques, would be beneficial.


The candidate excels in communication, collaborates effectively within a team, demonstrates strong problem-solving abilities, and maintains a keen attention to detail.
