Network Engineer

As a Senior Network Engineer, you will play a crucial role in supporting, maintaining, and evolving Transdev's network infrastructure. You will ensure optimal performance, capacity, and availability while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to implement innovative solutions. This position is ideal for a hands-on professional who thrives in a dynamic, international environment and excels in both project-based and operational tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure the performance, capacity, and availability of the company network infrastructure.
• Provide 2nd and 3rd line support for outages, incidents, and associated systems.
• Design, document, and implement improvements to meet business and IT requirements.
• Create new network drawings and take initiative in developing network designs yourself.
• Create and review RFCs to implement system or network changes.
• Collaborate with IT, business units, and external suppliers to deliver high-quality solutions on time and within budget.
• Initiate, test, and implement measures to improve the network's performance and capacity.
• Participate in IT projects (ITIL and DevOps) to future-proof the network infrastructure.
• Contribute to 24/7 standby rotation for critical support needs.

Must-Have Skills & Qualifications:

• 10+ years of professional networking experience.
• Expertise in network design, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of:
• Firewalls: Palo Alto preferred (or Cisco, Fortinet).
• Routing/Protocols: BGP, OSPF, MPLS, NAT, TCP/IP, IPsec, DNS, DHCP.
• Tools: NetBox, Ansible, Oxidized, RMM, and monitoring software.
• Cloud: AWS networking and cloud firewalls.
• Certifications: CCNA, CCNP (or equivalent experience).
• Familiarity with VoIP systems and RADIUS techniques.
• Experience with Microsoft and Linux server environments.
• Fluent in Dutch and proficient in English (technical communication).Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have):
• Hands-on experience with network documentation and whiteboard discussions.
• Ability to learn and adapt to Palo Alto firewall systems.
• Strong project management skills for building new network environments.
