Role overview

In the Data Science and Machine Learning Team, we focus on taking leading edge developments in the AI space and applying them to a myriad of water treatment related applications. Some examples include, applying reinforcement learning for process control and optimization of reverse osmosis water treatment systems, regressions for predictive maintenance of filter elements, and condition monitoring for early failure detection in water treatment systems.

Responsibilities:

• Developing AI systems and tools for use in software offerings.
• Researching and finding new solutions to AI/ML/DS problems as needed.
• Educating and knowledge sharing AI research with a cross-functional team consisting of software development, engineering, and business domain experts.
• Learning Domain knowledge as necessary and working with SMEs to develop high quality problem definitions.
• Owning the AI develop lifecycle inclusive of preparing data for use in AI systems, exploratory data analysis, model development, model deployment and implementation, monitoring, and maintenance.
• Collaboration with a globally distributed team that is remote and spread across various time zones.

Requirements:

• An agile self-starter with a software craftsmanship mindset and the ability to act on their own initiative and self-direct.
• Experience dealing with uncleaned real-world data.
• Experience working with domain experts to improve problem definitions, metric selection, and feature selection.
• A person who is confident in their ability to pick up new skills and domain knowledge as the role requires.
• Experience working with a globally distributed team in different time zones.
• 2+ Years of experience developing and maintaining machine learning models.
• Or 2+ Years of experience developing RL agents.
• 1+ Years of experience developing models for any of the following applications: control, planning, process optimization, event prediction, condition monitoring, anomaly detection.
• 2+ Years Software Development experience with proficiency in Python, Numpy, Torch or other gradient tracking tensor math library
• Databases. Bonus points for Postgres
• Experience with Docker
• Able to work at the Clients site, located in Jurong East
• Willing to start on 2 years termed contract.

Nice to haves:

• Experience using RL for industrial process control.
• Experience with time series in Natural Sciences.
• Experience building and deploying machine learning services.
• Working Knowledge of Test-Driven Development
• Experience in any of the following industries is an asset: resource extraction, manufacturing, water reuse, facilities management, industrial management.
