Role : Senior Developer
Clerk Grade: 9/10 (base salary ranging from $125,693 - $138,510) per annum, plus employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading
Employment Type: Ongoing, Full-time
Location: Principally office is based in Pyrmont, Sydney. In-office presence is required three days a week, with some hybrid working arrangements.

This role sits within Births, Deaths and Marriages (BDM) the Identity Security & Digital Division in the IT Service Delivery team.

About the team
The NSW Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages is an agency within the NSW Department of Customer Service. The Registry was formed in 1856 to register life events in NSW accurately and securely for all time. This includes the registration of births, deaths and marriages and official changes of name and sex.

Your day-to-day
Working in the Developer team, you will lead and guide developers and contribute to the creation of large or complex applications that facilitate the achievement of Registry objectives.

To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:

  • Prepare and review code to enable application development
  • Contribute to the Development Practice by applying best practice methodologies and industry recognised standards, processes and systems, including co-ordination of input from Developers across squads to ensure they are clear about the ways of working in a Digital Agile environment
  • Advise on the right way to apply standards and methods, ensuring compliance with security and application development standards, assuming technical responsibility for all the stages and iterations of a software development project
  • Provide technical advice to stakeholders and set the team-based standards for programming tools and techniques, planning and allocating resources across the squads to support effective delivery

    Skills Required
  • CI / CD pipelines and DevOps
  • Tertiary education in relevant IT course of at least diploma
  • Fluent in web development technologies including HTML, CSS, javascript\
  • Experience in cloud development and deployments within AWS
  • Proficient in Agile methodologies

    Skills desirables are:
  • Typescript
  • NodeJS + Express
  • Swift IOS
  • Android and Kotlin
  • Gitlab
