Application Security Engineer

pawaTech is looking for an Application Security Engineer with a proactive attitude and a solutions-oriented mindset. As an Application Security Engineer, you will work closely with internal teams to ensure the security of our applications and systems. Your primary responsibilities will include finding and addressing technical and business logic vulnerabilities, developing internal security tools, and supporting and implementing internal security processes.

You will work on:

• Identify and address technical vulnerabilities in the source code;
• Detect and mitigate business logic vulnerabilities within applications;
• Ensure secure communication between applications;
• Develop and implement internal security tools;
• Collaborate with internal teams to select and implement security solutions;
• Support and enhance existing security processes;
• Plan and design security-by-design solutions and cybersecurity controls;
• Develop, deploy, and operate cybersecurity solutions across infrastructures and products.

Key skills and experience for this role:

• Proven experience in IT Security and as a programmer who can read and analyze code;
• Proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, and Git for backend development;
• Experience with Go (Golang) for developing internal tools;
• Experience with micro-service and distributed systems;
• Strong knowledge of API security;
• Familiarity with OWASP Top Ten security programming;
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills;
• Strong communication skills to explain technical vulnerabilities and their implications;
• Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and stakeholders;
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
