Head of Tech

The Head of Tech at Qashio plays a vital role in driving our technological innovation and advancement. You will lead the development and execution of our technology strategy, ensuring alignment with our business goals and objectives. This is a high-impact role where you will oversee our talented software development team, manage our technology infrastructure, and collaborate closely with product and customer success teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive technology strategy aligned with Qashio's business objectives.
• Identify and evaluate new technologies and trends to maintain a competitive edge in the fintech industry.
• Oversee the entire software development lifecycle, from ideation to deployment and maintenance.
• Ensure adherence to agile methodologies (SCRUM) and best practices.
• Manage and mentor a team of skilled software engineers.
• Collaborate with the product team to define and prioritize product roadmaps.
• Manage Qashio's technology infrastructure, including servers, networks, and cloud services (AWS and Google Cloud).
• Ensure high availability, scalability, and disaster recovery planning.
• Implement robust security measures to protect sensitive data and comply with industry regulations.
• Oversee the implementation and maintenance of security applications (DLP, MDM, web firewall, antivirus, antimalware).
• Develop and enforce data privacy policies and practices.
• Serve as a member of the Incident Report Team (IRT).
• Provide cybersecurity training to Qashio employees.
• Manage security incident response, including regulatory reporting and coordination with external parties.
• Plan and execute security testing and drills.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
• Monitor and control technology-related expenses.
• Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to technology and product development.
• Use data-driven insights to make informed decisions and drive continuous improvement.
• Work closely with other departments (Product, Customer Success, Marketing, etc.) to understand their technology needs and provide effective solutions.Foster strong relationships with external technology vendors and service providers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in a senior technology leadership role, preferably within the fintech industry.
• Essential: Strong understanding of financial products, services, and regulatory requirements in the UAE and the wider Middle East region.
• Essential: Extensive experience with APIs.
• Essential: Proven experience in B2B product and technology development.
• Solid understanding of software development methodologies, agile practices, and modern technology stacks (React.js, Next.js, React Native, Node.js, Ruby On Rails).
• Experience with SQL/Postgres and infrastructure monitoring is a plus.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
