In your role as Software Developer at Varian, a Siemens Healthineers company, you will play a pivotal role in developing and maintaining our next generation cloud-based oncology-focused medical device software. Your proficiencies extend beyond coding, encompassing a strong understanding of cloud technologies, allowing you to align your work to meet broader business requirements. Your collaborative approach ensures effective teamwork with Developers, Testers, Architects, Product Managers, UX, and other stakeholders. As a member of our team in Nova Scotia, you will become part of a global leader in cancer care technology as we shape the future of oncology software with cutting-edge solutions that directly impact patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Cloud-Based Innovation: Contribute to the development of our next-generation cloud-based oncology solutions. Leverage your expertise to create scalable, secure, and efficient software that revolutionizes cancer treatment.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with team members, share knowledge, and support your software development colleagues. Work closely with cross-functional stakeholders and other developers to execute the software development roadmap.
  • Quality: Maintain the highest standards of software quality, reliability, and performance. Implement best practices and methodologies to deliver exceptional products.
  • Technical Excellence: Keep up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies. Be part of a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence within your team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or related field.
  • Proven experience in cloud software development including hands-on coding.
  • Strong technical skills with the ability to contribute to a high-performing team.
  • Familiarity with cloud technologies (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud) and agile methodologies.
  • Passion for healthcare and a desire to make a meaningful impact on patient outcomes.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Note: This role will require the successful candidate to reside in Nova Scotia.
