As the Technology Product Manager you'll build and lead new teams (internal and vendor-based), collaborate with business and technology stakeholders, facilitate strategic decision making, and deliver fit-for-purpose solutions for staff through an internal application. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring this digital applications and component are well-maintained and enhanced through a formal continuous improvement programme.
Ideal candidate profile:
- 10+ years working in Product Management
- Project Management experience
- Experience managing large programs of work
- The experience to navigate the wider PM landscape / work with internal PM’s
- Any PM certifications will also be favourable
- Ex Software Developer
- The ability to lead developers as you have walked in their shoes
- Budget management experience
- Here you will be managing a $5-$10m budget
- Recent people management experience
- You will be managing 4-5 Business Analysts (and potentially Scrum Masters further down the line)
What You'll Do
- Build and lead new teams (internal and vendor-based).
- Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders.
- Facilitate strategic decision-making and deliver fit-for-purpose solutions for store team members through the application.
- Ensure the digital front door and associated applications are well-maintained and enhanced through a formal continuous improvement program.
- Provide strong technical leadership and decision-making accountability.
- Build, lead, and motivate a diverse multi-squad software development team (onshore and offshore).
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to manage expectations and deliver measurable value.
- Provide thought leadership and contribute to continuous improvement in processes and ways of working.
- Manage a product budget and drive reductions in the total cost of ownership.
- Mentor, coach, and support team members.
- Analyse and assist in resolving production problems with development and support teams.
- Create a product vision and maintain a product backlog.
- Maintain and communicate a product roadmap.
- Manage relationships with key vendors to derive optimal value.
- Communicate effectively across stakeholder groups to sell benefits and ensure effective change management.
- Ensure a stable and future-proof enterprise-wide solution that meets business objectives.
What You'll Bring
- Experience as an IT Product Manager for a large organisation.
- 10+ years of IT and management-related experience.
- Proven experience leading large, diverse teams with onshore and offshore resources.
- A growth mindset.
- Experience working across multiple business and IT teams.
- Senior business stakeholder management, including challenging assumptions and vision.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, influencing, and analytical skills.
- Experience with Agile methodologies.
- Solid understanding of Software Development Lifecycles.
- Knowledge and experience in risk management.
- Experience with “Store Systems” is highly desirable.
- Programme and project management experience is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with Jira and Confluence is desirable.
- Degree and/or professional accreditations are desirable.
