A GOOD INTERNSHIP IS NEVER HANDS OFF.

SHARE YOUR PASSION.

We believe in creating an environment where our interns really can learn by doing and where they are given their own areas of responsibility right from the start of their time with us. That’s why our experts will treat you as part of the team from day one, encourage you to bring your own ideas to the table – and give you the opportunity to really show what you can do.

We, the BMW Group, offer you an interesting and varied internship in our global residual value risk team at BMW Financial Services. Residual value risk is a ubiquitous type of risk which arises whenever cars leave our plants and start their journey as leased vehicles, for instance. The BMW Group attaches great importance to this highly strategic matter. Would you like to be part of a team of dedicated data scientists who handle it?

What awaits you?

  • In your internship you will be an integral part in applying machine learning models to predict future prices of our vehicles on the used-car market.
  • You will analyse data sets from across different markets to derive measures and recommendations for the future.
  • Furthermore, you will be part of creating new analysis tools to further increase our level of insight into the car market.
  • The unique opportunity to learn from and contribute to discussions that decide how we evaluate our premium vehicles on a global scale rounds off your tasks.

What should you bring along?

  • Current enrollment in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or a similar program.
  • Profound skills in two of the following: Python, R, and SQL with experience in creating supervised learning algorithms.
  • A good grasp of statistics and its application in modelling.
  • Excellent knowledge of the Microsoft Office package.
  • Intrinsic motivation to continuously expand your knowledge on the global electric car market development.
  • Proven analytical thinking.
  • Excellent command of the English language in oral and written form. German skills are a plus.
