About The Role

Sensors-based technology has a wide range of applications including navigation, gaming, smart user interface, multimedia, virtual reality and augmented reality. This challenging position offers the opportunity to work with leading edge sensor technologies embedded in smartphones, automotive, IOT, smartwatches as well as other consumer electronics devices. Job activities span the whole product life cycle from early R&D to commercial deployment. The successful candidate will work with systems, software, and integration/test engineers in the QCT sensors group

Job Responsibilities Include

• Designing, developing and testing desktop/mobile applications
• Architecting, coding and testing tools with UI & compatible with Windows and Linux platforms, using popular languages like Java, C++, Python, .net, C#
• Building Java/C++ software components that follow industry-standard design patterns, development methodologies and deployment models
• Supporting other software and test teams with deployment of sensors solutions on devices
• Development on prototypes reference platforms that cover mobile devices, watches, wearables, etc.
• Supporting bench marking of popular features across device types
• Documentation of design, tests, tool usage guides
• Working with global systems and software teams
  
  
  

The position is technology focused and involves participation in a broad range of sensors systems engineering activities within the Sensors Technologies group.

Bachelor’s Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

2+ years of software development experience in software applications and tools. Experience in Object Oriented Programming (OOP).

• Candidate should have programming experience with Java/C++
• Candidate should be proficient in using modern C++ (11, 14, 17, 20) standards and associated technologies (STL, Boost, etc.)
• Candidate should have a strong understanding of computer science fundamentals.
• Candidate should be familiar with application development for Android (Android Studio) and Android Linux native layer platforms
• Candidate needs to be familiar with unit testing and system testing using modern testing frameworks (Google Test, CI/CD, etc.)
• Candidate should be comfortable in development of system applications and tools in C++ / Python, both internal and customer oriented.
• Experience with programming for desktop applications with GUI.
• Experience working in a multi-OS environment (Ubuntu Linux, Windows 10)
• Candidate should be comfortable in programming in one interpreted language (Python, Perl, Ruby)
• Experience in Object Oriented Programming (OOP).
• Experience with tracking and version control systems (Git, Subversion, Jira, etc.)
• Excellent analytical skills.
  
  
  

2+ years of experience in the following areas:

• An understanding of sensor technology (accelerometers, gyroscopes, magnetometers, etc.)
• Cloud computing (AWS, Azure)
• DevOps
• AI software tools knowledge
• Understanding of basic embedded firmware concepts (interrupts, drivers, registers, RTOS)
• Design of software applications and UIs to interact with an underlying computational engine

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field and 2+ years of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience.
  
  
  

OR

Master's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field and 1+ year of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience.

OR

PhD in Science, Engineering, or related field.
