Senior Software Engineer

Moneytech is one of Australia’s largest non-bank lenders. We are an established player in the market and have seen considerable year on year growth for the past 20 years. The business is under-going a huge digital transformation project that will see simplicity and automation for our clients and staff. We are building an industry leading financial platform, built from the ground up with the latest development paradigms and best practices. Joining the Moneytech development team means you will work closely with and act as a trusted advisor to the Head of Engineering and CTO to aid the direction of the development and digitisation transformation program that will optimise our operational platforms. You will utilise, share, and acquire new knowledge that will take Moneytech’s Tech platforms to a new level.

Skills and Experience:

• Relevant Tertiary qualification or Industry experience.
• Several years’ hands on development experience in a fast-paced environment with the scars to prove it.
• Previous employment and experience in a financial services environment would be advantageous.
• Excellent C# / .Net (7,8) / .Net Core development skills.
• Comfortable working with Angular (16+), typescript, CSS, HTML5.
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure) and serverless architecture (Docker, Azure functions).
• Knowledge and experience with integrating 3rd party APIs (ReST, SOAP).
• Knowledge of SQL and working with MS relational databases.
• Excellent Written and verbal communication.
• Communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work with people at all levels.
• Experience working in a lean-agile environment, experience with Jira/confluence desirable.
• Understanding of modern software design practices, DevOps, and security best practices.

You will be working alongside likeminded Tech and Finance professionals to deliver features from problem definition and analysis right through to deployment and feedback.

What you'll do:

• Contribute to our greenfield microservice cloud native platform.
• Work with the latest frameworks, try new technologies and cross-skill.
• Develop robust, high-quality software that meets the expectations of your product development team’s standards and procedures ensuring solution meets modern best practices for highly scalable, reliable, maintainable software.
• Work collaboratively with a high performing Agile team, providing honest open feedback to help everyone become the best version of themselves.
• Be accountable for technical decisions and justifications in the team.
• Code review colleagues’ work and provide insightful and constructive feedback.
• Work to build a clear picture of the customer’s problem to be solved, including interacting with Moneytech’s product team to understand their pain points and deliver solutions that solve problems fast.

Liaise with stakeholders to create solutions that solve business problems and improve customer experience.

• Continuous learning and development in the business domain and relevant technologies
• Identify and promote opportunities to extend and enhance the use of new technologies.
• Moneytech strive to be lean and agile all the way through. We always start small and grow as we need, which applies to our code as much as it applies to our delivery process.
• Explore new technologies and solutions for Moneytech such as OCR, machine learning, statistical financial analysis, adaptive risk modelling, generative AI for test automation.
