Overview:
Our client, a leading management consultancy, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Cybersecurity Consultant to join their team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for securing IT systems and ensuring the protection of sensitive data across the organisation. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in cybersecurity, data protection, and risk management.
Key Responsibilities:
- IT Systems Security: Assess, design, and implement security measures to safeguard the organisation’s IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, applications, cloud environments, on-premise systems, and storage. Ensure that systems are resilient against cyber threats.
- Data Protection: Develop and execute strategies to protect sensitive data, including encryption, data loss prevention (DLP), and compliance with relevant regulations such as GDPR, CCPA, and industry-specific standards.
- Risk Management: Identify and assess potential security vulnerabilities in IT systems and applications. Conduct regular security assessments, audits, and risk analyses to recommend effective risk mitigation strategies. Stay current on emerging threats and vulnerabilities.
- Security Architecture & Solutions: Design, implement, and manage security architectures to ensure that IT systems are secure, compliant, and resilient. Provide advice on the security posture of the organisation's systems and help design scalable security solutions.
- Compliance & Regulatory Standards: Ensure that all systems, data management practices, and cybersecurity solutions adhere to relevant data protection and security regulations and industry best practices. Maintain a strong understanding of current cybersecurity laws and standards.
- Incident Response & Monitoring: Lead efforts in monitoring, detecting, and responding to security incidents. Minimize potential impacts on the organisation’s systems and sensitive data. Manage security alerts and incidents, conduct forensic investigations, and drive post-incident remediation.
- Collaboration & Training: Collaborate with internal teams and departments to raise security awareness and implement best practices. Provide guidance on security initiatives and develop security training to foster a security-aware organisational culture.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement of security protocols, processes, and tools. Ensure that security measures evolve in response to new and emerging threats.
Key Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Security Consultant, Security Engineer, or similar role with a focus on securing IT systems and data protection.
- In-depth knowledge of security protocols, firewalls, encryption, and secure coding practices.
- Expertise in data protection regulations such as GDPR, CCPA, and other industry standards.
- Experience with data security tools and technologies, including SIEM, DLP, IAM, and cloud security tools.
- Strong understanding of IT systems (Infrastructure, Applications, Cloud, On-premise, Network, Storage, Databases) and OT systems.
- Knowledge of Cybersecurity and Information Security Architecture.
- Familiarity with risk management frameworks and the ability to assess and mitigate security threats.
- Experience with security monitoring and incident response platforms.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, or similar are highly desirable.
- Degree or Master’s in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Technology, or a related field.

- Collibra, Onetrust, Microsoft, CompTIA, ISC2.
Ideal Certifications:
- Microsoft certifications such as SC-900, SC-100, SC-400, SC-300, MS-500, AZ-500.
