Our Challenge:
We are seeking an experienced Scrum Master with over 10years of experience in Agile project management and a strong background in Capital Markets or Banking. The ideal candidate will take a leadership role in driving Agile practices across our teams, ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality financial products and services. You will leverage your extensive experience and industry knowledge to mentor teams, remove impediments, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
Additional Information*
The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Mississauga, ON is CAD $110k – CAD $120k/year & benefits (see below).
The Role
Responsibilities:
- Agile Leadership: Lead and facilitate all Agile ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, etc.) for multiple teams, ensuring adherence to Scrum principles and practices.
- Coaching and Mentoring: Act as a coach and mentor to Scrum Masters and team members, promoting Agile methodologies, and fostering an environment of collaboration and accountability.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with Product Owners and stakeholders to ensure that backlogs are well-defined, prioritized, and aligned with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Impediment Removal: Identify and remove obstacles that hinder team progress, ensuring teams can focus on delivering value.
- Performance Metrics: Analyze team performance metrics to provide insights for continuous improvement and to enhance team delivery capabilities.
- Agile Transformation: Lead the Agile transformation initiative across the organization, promoting best practices and scaling Agile frameworks (e.g., SAFe, LeSS) as appropriate.
- Risk Management: Proactively identify risks and issues, working with teams and stakeholders to implement solutions and mitigate impacts.
- Industry Expertise: Utilize your extensive knowledge of Capital Markets or Banking to guide teams in delivering products that meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Training and Development: Develop and deliver training programs on Agile practices for teams and stakeholders to foster a deeper understanding of Agile methodologies.
- Strategic Alignment: Ensure alignment of Agile initiatives with overall business strategy and goals, providing regular updates to leadership on progress and challenges.
Requirements:
You are:
- Bachelor s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; Master s degree preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in Agile project management, with at least 5 years as a Scrum Master in a Capital Markets or Banking environment.
- Strong understanding of Capital Markets products, services, and regulatory frameworks.
- Proven track record of leading Agile transformations and managing multiple Agile teams to successful project outcomes.
- Relevant Agile certifications (e.g., CSM, PSM, SAFe, LeSS) are highly desirable.
- Exceptional facilitation, mentoring, and coaching skills, with a strong focus on servant leadership.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to risk management.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, adept at building relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience with Agile project management tools (e.g., JIRA, Trello, Rally).
