About This Role

Yubo is growing ! And one of the key part of this growth reside in our Delivery Team. This team focus on the development of new features, and the support of our product team. In this fast growing environment, already composed of two Senior BackEnd Engineers and one Fullstack Developer, you will focus on Node.js, you will work on asynchronous systems, databases and on all the backend related topics.

As a BackEnd Developer, reporting directly to the BackEnd Delivery Manager, you will be working on many different backend oriented projects with no restrictions in terms of scope and with as much ownership as possible. Tackling various subjects related to features, API, tooling and safety.

Your Responsibilities

• Contribute to the development and optimization of backend APIs for all our mobile or web applications
• Assist in managing real-time message flows and implementing event-driven architecture
• Collaborate with the Data Engineering team to create and integrate new data models
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code aligned with team and company standards
• Actively participate in code reviews to ensure quality and share knowledge with the team
• Conduct in-depth code reviews to ensure high-quality, maintainable, and efficient code

• Data: Couchbase, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, Mongo DB

Who You Are

• You have at least 4 years of experience in Node.js backend development, ideally within a startup or scaleup environment.
• Your experience is focused on Node.js and TypeScript
• Experience working with: MongoDB, Redis, PostgreSQL would be ideal
• Experience working with system/infrastructure and brokers (Kafka, RabbitMQ, NATS…)
• You like to collaborate with experts outside of your field and you are recognized as a good communicator
  
  
  

Within a month, you will

• Familiarize yourself with Yubo’s backend systems, development workflows, and team collaboration tools
• Start contributing to small, well-scoped tasks, such as bug fixes or minor API improvements, to build familiarity with the codebase
• Participate in team meetings and code reviews to understand ongoing projects and align with the team’s standards
  
  
  

Within 3 months, you will

• Actively contribute to delivering a new feature’s backend APIs, ensuring alignment with product and performance requirements
• Assist in updating and maintaining backend documentation for shared understanding within the team
• Collaborate with the infrastructure, mobile, and data teams to improve integration and system reliability
  
  
  

Within 6 months, you will

• Take ownership of backend API development, focusing on scalability, maintainability, and performance
• Contribute to the growth of event-driven architecture and improve real-time message flows
• Enhance internal tooling and developer productivity in collaboration with the Fullstack Tooling Developer
• Identify and address backend performance bottlenecks to ensure optimal system efficiency
• Participate in architectural discussions, technical decision-making, and mentorship of junior developers
