Backend Engineer

DeepJudge is an AI-powered legaltech startup founded by three ex-Googlers and AI PhDs with a mission to empower legal teams to harness their internal data to make strategic decisions. With DeepJudge Search we are bringing SOTA information retrieval technology to internal document collections of large corporations, law firms, and government agencies. We are based in Zurich, Switzerland, but cater to clients all around the world.

We are seeking a highly skilled Backend Software Engineer to join our dynamic team at DeepJudge. As an Engineer in our product team, you will play a crucial role in the development and implementation of our software solution, advancing the capabilities of our search engine, working on everything from our indexing pipeline to integrating our agents with our search engine.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop scalable and efficient software solutions for our product
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
• Build, deploy, and maintain web applications using modern tools and frameworks
• Optimize the performance and scalability of our applications
• Conduct code reviews to ensure high-quality and maintainable code
• Participate in Agile development processes, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives
• Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies
  
  
  

Requirements:

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects
• Bachelor's degree or Master’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field
• Proven experience as a Backend Software Engineer, preferably in a startup environment
• Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, Rust
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker)
• Solid understanding of database management systems
• Interest in AI and machine learning concepts is a plus
