Cyber Security Analyst

About the Role
Security Clearance: Must have proof of Negative Vetting 1 (NV1) security clearance
Contract Type: Contract until 31/12/2025 + 24 months of extensionsWe are seeking an experienced Cyber Security Specialist to play a crucial role in monitoring, analysing, and responding to cyber threats. You will work within a high-security environment, protecting key ICT systems by identifying risks, implementing security measures, and ensuring incident response best practices are followed.
Key ResponsibilitiesCollect and analyse cyber security data to identify threats and determine the root cause of attacks.
Implement security actions to counter threats and restore system operations.
Collaborate with internal ICT teams and business areas to communicate security limitations and produce relevant reports.
Conduct cyber threat hunting exercises and provide threat intelligence to the team.
Participate in mentoring and training initiatives.
Assist in the development of standard operating procedures for cyber security incident response.
Mandatory:Experience using Sentinel or a similar Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) solution.
Familiarity with the Australian Government Information Security Manual.
Understanding of best practice cyber security monitoring processes.
Experience in cyber incident response.
Experience in cyber security monitoring within, or for, other Federal government entities.
