  • Ensure the protocol’s scalability, fault tolerance, and data consistency.
  • Build APIs for front-end consumption and third-party integrations.
  • Conduct thorough code reviews, vulnerability assessments, and penetration tests.
  • Stay updated on security threats, ensuring protocol resilience.

2. Protocol Design & Smart Contract Development:

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy smart contracts on EVM blockchains (Arbitrum, Ethereum, Optimism, Base, Polygon, etc.).
  • Optimize smart contracts for gas efficiency and adhere to best security practices.
  • Work with external audit firms for code reviews and audits.

3. Collaboration & Leadership:

  • Collaborate with product and research teams to design new DeFi products and services.
  • Work closely with other engineers, researchers, and designers to ensure smooth development.
  • Mentor junior developers, fostering a collaborative, innovative environment.
  • Provide clear documentation and training materials for the team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Extensive backend development experience with Golang, Solidity, and EVM blockchains.
  • Proven experience in developing smart contracts on Ethereum or other major blockchain networks.
  • Strong experience with frontend development (React.js, Angular.js, etc.) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with decentralized oracles, layer 2 solutions, and cross-chain technologies.
  • Passion for blockchain, DeFi platforms, and financial innovation.
  • Excellent attention to detail, especially regarding security and scalability.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience working on DeFi projects related to trading, lending, or derivatives.
  • Exposure to other blockchain platforms or technologies.
  • Contributions to open-source blockchain projects.

Additional Details:

  • Strong experience in Golang and distributed systems is required.
  • Experience in Solidity development, ideally in production environments, is highly valued.
  • Startup experience is preferred.
  • Must be based in Lisbon or willing to relocate with work authorization.
