IT System Engineer

My client is an international supplier of adhesives, sealants and coatings to the automotive industry.

They currently have an opening for a IT System Engineer who will play an integral part of their Group IT team, directly reporting to the Head of Group IT. Your primary role will involve ensuring the continuous availability and security of our data center systems, software, and operating systems.

This position is a hybrid position, based in Thurgau, Switzerland.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support of Operating Systems (OS), Software (SW), and Databases (DB) in the Data Centres (DCs), including Microsoft, VMware, and Veeam.
• Management of Storage Systems (NetApp) and Servers (HP).
• Network and Firewall management.
• Life-Cycle Management of Microsoft platforms.
• Support of specific applications.
• Implementation and maintenance of Antivirus and IT Security technologies.
• Project implementation and execution.
• Site support.
• Management of Microsoft technologies such as WSUS, KMS, PKI, GPOs, and scripting.
• Extensive experience with IT infrastructure.

Application Requirements:

• Education: Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) or relevant IT systems-related education.
• Long-term system support experience in a global production environment, ideally in the automotive industry.
• Experience in helpdesk operations, including on-call service.
• Knowledge of software license management.
• Fluency in English
• Strong creativity, problem-solving skills, and service orientation.
