The Position:

Sungrow is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Information Security Intern to support our cybersecurity and compliance initiatives. This internship provides hands-on experience in cybersecurity operations, compliance frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, SOC 2), and third-party vendor security assessments.

This is a great opportunity for individuals looking to gain real-world experience in cybersecurity within the renewable energy sector, whether they are transitioning into cybersecurity, expanding their skills, or seeking entry-level experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Security Operations and Incident Response:

· Assist in monitoring security events and identifying potential threats.

· Support security investigations and document findings.

· Help implement and test security controls.

2. Compliance and Governance

· Assist in tracking compliance with ISO 27001, NIST, and SOC 2.

· Support security audits and compliance assessments.

· Maintain and update security documentation and reports.

3. Vendor Security & Risk Management

· Research vendor security risks and third-party assessments.

· Assist in evaluating security questionnaires and compliance documentation.

· Support procurement processes to ensure vendors meet security standards.

4. Training & Awareness

· Help develop cybersecurity awareness materials and training programs.

· Assist in coordinating cybersecurity training sessions.

Minimum Requirements:

· Interest or experience in cybersecurity, IT security, or compliance.

· Basic understanding of cybersecurity concepts, compliance frameworks, and risk management.

· Familiarity with security tools (SIEM, IAM, vulnerability scanning) is a plus.

· Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

· Ability to work independently and collaborate in a team.

Preferred Skills & Certifications

· Familiarity with ISO 27001, NIST, or SOC 2 compliance frameworks.

· Experience with security tools like SIEM, IAM, or vulnerability scanners.

· Security certifications like CompTIA Security+, CySA+, or ISO 27001 Foundations (preferred, but not required).

Internship Details:

· Location: Dallas, Texas or Costa Mesa, California - Remote options available

· Duration: 6-12 months

· Hours: 24-40 hours per week (Flexible)

· Compensation: Paid internship (Competitive hourly rate)
