Principal Platform Engineer – Simplifying Operations through Modernization and Automation
We are on a mission to streamline manual and administrative operational processes, making life easier for service owners and engineers who build and maintain these services. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in supporting a high-profile roadmap focused on modernization and automation.
The scope of work is broad, ranging from simplifying processes and eliminating manual tasks to fully automating compliance processes for technology controls. You will work with technologies such as data analytics, UI development, dashboards, automation tools, and system integrations.
As part of this squad embedded within the SRE engineering team, you’ll collaborate with a Product Manager to balance effort and complexity across a diverse set of improvement initiatives. Your role will involve close engagement with engineers from various business units to address their challenges creatively and effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
- Reduce manual toil with automation: Design and implement solutions to eliminate repetitive, manual processes.
- Architect and modernize processes: Assess manual workflows and architect efficient, scalable, and modern alternatives.
- System integration and design: Build seamless automation systems that integrate efficiently across all components.
- Advanced debugging: Resolve complex technical issues involving interconnected systems and intricate dependencies.
- Collaboration and communication: Share ideas and solutions effectively with your team through strong communication and influencing skills.
- Mentorship: Support and develop your peers, fostering a culture of learning and growth.
Technical Skills and Experience:
We’re looking for a versatile full-stack engineer with a passion for building innovative solutions across diverse systems to tackle complex challenges. While you don’t need to know every tool deeply, experience with the following will set you up for success:
Core Expertise:
- Programming: GoLang, JavaScript, Python, SQL, microservices, RESTful APIs, and system design.
- Architecture: CI/CD pipelines and modern software design principles.
- Bonus Skills: C#, .Net, Azure, Node.js, and shell scripting.
Tools and Platforms:
- Collaboration: Jira, Confluence, ServiceNow.
- Containerization: Docker, Kubernetes, and EKS.
- Source Control & CI/CD: GitHub, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and Artifactory.
- Monitoring: Grafana and Prometheus.
Best Practices:
- Proficient in the full software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Knowledge of modern engineering practices like trunk-based development, unit testing, TDD, and penetration testing.
- Strong experience with continuous delivery, CI/CD, and large-scale solution design and implementation.
