We are now looking for 2 summer trainees to join our Product Development team for approximately 3-4 months (May-end of August). The exact start and duration of the summer trainee period will be agreed separately.

This is a paid traineeship. We offer a monthly salary based on the number of credits points you have completed and previous work experience.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a trainee, you will be working either as a part of a charger interfaces or power management development team. The teams will work together using agile methodology to develop new features for our EV chargers and solve real-world problems. You will get experience in working on all layers of the stack (frontend, APIs, logic, dynamic power handling), and also on automated testing. You will gain valuable experience on a wide range of practices and topics such as code reviews, devops, continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD), and node.js. You will have support from our core team. The main development language will be Typescript for charger interface team and C++ for power management team.

Some tech keywords to describe our stack: Angular, Node, Typescript, OCPP, RxJs, MQTT, Linux, Robot Framework localization.

Your everyday work can contain e.g. the following tasks:

  • Improving the resource file translation process
  • Writing automated tests for your node.js code
  • Refactoring Angular application and implementing new features for it
  • Improving new features for power management together with senior software engineers using C++
  • Developing test automation for system level power management

The position is based in Lahti (HQ). We expect you to be physically present at the Lahti office for the first month – after that also remote days are possible if the team feels it is the best way to work.

WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU?

  • You have already completed your main programming studies and have good command of at least one programming language
  • You have ongoing university/university of applied sciences studies and have completed at least 2 years' worth of university/university of applied sciences studies in a relevant field
  • You have some school or hobby projects under your belt that you are proud of and can talk about in more detail
  • You have intellectual curiosity and a drive to constantly learn more
  • Fluent English skills (as our official company language is English)
  • Previous experience in any technical field is seen as an advantage
