CCIE Senior Network Specialist

Job Description:

Our client, a leading organisation, is seeking a Senior Network Specialist with CCIE certification and expertise in Cisco ACI and network security (Fortinet & Palo Alto). This role is a 12-month contract based in Dublin City, offering an excellent opportunity to work on complex network environments.

Job Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and manage complex network solutions with a focus on Cisco ACI.
• Provide expert-level support for network security technologies, including Fortinet and Palo Alto firewalls.
• Troubleshoot and optimise network infrastructure to ensure high availability and performance.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to drive network improvements.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation for network designs, policies, and procedures.
• Lead security best practices across network environments, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
• Assist in network migrations, upgrades, and integration projects as required.
• Mentor junior network engineers and provide technical leadership within the team.

Experience Required:

• Minimum 8+ years in network engineering, with strong expertise in enterprise environments.
• CCIE certification (Enterprise, Security, or Data Centre preferred).
• Proven experience working with Cisco ACI, including design, configuration, and troubleshooting.
• Hands-on expertise in network security, particularly Fortinet and Palo Alto firewalls.
• Strong knowledge of routing, switching, VPNs, and WAN/LAN architectures.
• Experience working in highly regulated environments (e.g., financial services, telecoms, or large enterprises).

Desirable Skills:

• Experience with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Familiarity with Zero Trust Security and modern security frameworks.
• ITIL and project management experience would be beneficial.

Requirements:

• CCIE Certified.
• Additional certifications such as CCNP Security, Palo Alto PCNSE, or Fortinet NSE are a plus.
