Data Scientist

We are looking for an experienced Data Scientist based in Amsterdam, for a hybrid role, including predictive analysis and machine learning within the logistics and supply chain industry.

As a critical member of our team, you'll be central in solving complex data problems and exploiting data-driven solutions. The ideal candidate has a knack for interpreting complex datasets, a curiosity in business domain, and can construct valuable insights to drive strategic improvement.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

1. Solve complex data problems and provide insight into the supply chain and logistics processes.

2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and implement data-driven solutions.

3. Write maintainable, usable, and extendable production-level Python code.

4. Leverage Machine Learning libraries and frameworks like XGBoost, scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch.

5. Manage and optimize cloud services, with an emphasis on Google Cloud Platform.

Qualifications and Skills:

1. Proven experience working as a Data Scientist, preferably in a forecasting role within the supply chain/logistics industry.

2. Proficient in Python programming and reviewing PRs.

3. Experience with Machine Learning libraries and frameworks.

4. Strong knowledge of cloud services, preferably Google Cloud Platform, including Cloud Storage or BigQuery.

5. Familiarity with open-source MLOps tools like Metaflow, BentoML, KubeFlow, or similarly.

6. Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, automated testing and CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions is a plus.

7. Excellent problem-solving skills with a strategic mindset.

8. Strong scientific background and business domain curiosity.

9. Proactive communication skills and the ability to engage cohesively with team members across multiple functions.
