Head of Information Technology Operations

JCW is currently partnered with a leading insurer to find a highly skilled Head of IT Strategy & Operations. In this key leadership role, you will work closely with the CIO to shape the strategic direction of the IT department, ensuring operational excellence and driving innovation.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a strategic partner to the CIO, facilitating collaboration across departments and overseeing day-to-day IT operations.
• Design and implement a forward-looking IT strategy that supports the organization’s business objectives and promotes flexibility and growth.
• Optimize the IT operating framework by refining processes, enhancing efficiency, and streamlining delivery mechanisms.
• Lead high-impact strategic programs to enhance IT delivery performance and enable scalable future developments.
• Analyze and track IT performance metrics to provide actionable insights and inform long-term decision-making.

Profile

• A degree in IT, computer science, business administration, or a related discipline; advanced certifications or postgraduate qualifications (e.g., MBA) are advantageous.
• 5+ years of senior IT leadership experience, ideally within management consulting or the financial/insurance industry.
• Demonstrated expertise in shaping and delivering IT strategies, managing complex projects, and engaging with stakeholders at the executive level.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to develop structured, strategic solutions and communicate them effectively.
• Solid knowledge of contemporary IT systems, cloud-based technologies, and cybersecurity practices.
