High-Performance Optimisation Researcher

Job Opportunity: Researcher in Optimization Algorithms and Software Systems - Zurich, Switzerland

We are seeking talented researcher to join our dynamic team in Zurich. This role focuses on designing and analyzing foundational computational operators to power next-generation optimization platforms.

Responsibilities:

• Identify and analyze foundational operations for optimization platforms.
• Conduct performance analyses to pinpoint bottlenecks, predict scalability, assess trade-offs, and optimize device combinations.
• Design and prototype scalable, efficient software systems for optimization workloads.
• Develop and implement novel operators for CPUs, accelerators, and hybrid architectures.
• Ensure solvers are efficient, scalable, and easy to integrate into optimization frameworks.

Core Expertise:

• Optimization of irregular algorithms (e.g., graph computations, sparse linear algebra).
• Parallel programming (multi-core, distributed-memory, SIMD).
• High-performance code generation (e.g., ALP, BLIS, Spiral).
• Advanced C++ (C++11+), with strong knowledge of algorithms, data structures, and performance tools.

Preferred Skills:

• Knowledge of GraphBLAS, Algebraic Programming, or optimization solvers.
• Experience with advanced fabrics or accelerator programming
• Publications in HPC, applied mathematics, or computer science.
